For those who wanted to try Opera and were discouraged by the licensing fee and ads within the browser, this is excellent news. Even more excellent news is the fact that web designers can now view their sites in Opera without having to pay to use the browser. This will expand the support for Opera to more websites.

When it was announced in 2003 Microsoft had purchased Expression along with its innovative skeletal strokes technology from Creature House, long-time Expression users, as well as those looking forward to the release of the professional animation program Living Cels, which was in beta at the time, were understandably concerned about the future of the programs. There is still no news on Living Cels, but Expression is alive and well in the form of Microsoft Acrylic.

Microsoft will give a new Vista to its users, Apple a new processor.
With the development of Microsoft Vista, previously called Longhorn, Windows users will see many of the clues from Mac OS X. Many features are said to be similar to Apple’s operating system and will go beyond it. However, if Microsoft’s new baby will have OS X look-alike features, Mac users might be able to run Windows in its entirety through an OS X interface with Apple’s decision to use Intel processors. And don’t forget that this will mean a new operating system for Apple too: OS X Leopard. You can read more in this article: OS X Leopard to Be Compatible With Windows Applications?
Cheap pre-made logos can seem to be small companies’ saviour. But their company image, not being backed up by proper marketing research, could be at risk
Many people in the design world might have probably heard about the dispute involving LogoWorks. Some of the logos presented by LogoWorks seemed to have been used and owned by other companies.
Some people might wonder what the difference is between InDesign and Illustrator. The two programs have some similar features, but they are geared towards different aspects of Desktop Publishing.
While there are plenty of articles about Quark VS InDesign, I often see questions about the difference between Illustrator and InDesign.
Exactly what is Desktop Publishing and how does it relate to Graphic Design and to you as a creative mind?

Words communicate. Before there were words, however, there had to be letters.
Type does more work than merely forming words. Every type face has weight, mood, import, and emotional impact. For centuries, since the time of Gutenberg and the monks who hand lettered before him, Type has changed and evolved, influenced by natural and artificial sources. Styles have ebbed and flowed.
