In my studio, InDesign CS5 has proven to be a solid workhorse with no major drawbacks and several benefits. It's already become a tool for building multimedia I would normally do in Flash.
REVIEW: CorelDRAW X5 Adds Useful New Features
CorelDRAW X5 doesn't have the range of tools Photoshop and Illustrator might have, but it has some specific tools I don't see elsewhere and I am impressed by the strides made in web graphics and digital asset management.
Premiere Pro CS5 and After Effects CS5 Review
After Effects CS5 seems like a less necessary upgrade than Premiere Pro CS5, but that's probably because After Effects doesn't have a game-changer like Premiere does with its new Mercury playback engine.
Flash Professional CS5 Review
Flash Professional CS5 is still a phenomenal application that created an entire industry, but the fragmentation of the mobile market and the expanding Flash Platform has made its future unpredictable.
The more I use Illustrator CS5, the more I find I like its new features.
Photoshop CS5 Review
No matter whether or not you use all of Photoshop CS5's new features, every one of them works as advertised and I don't have a major complaint about the upgrade.

DVD REVIEW: “For A Beautiful Web” DVD Series
The three-disk For A Beautiful Web DVD series is a very nice resource for web designers, with roughly two hours per disk on three important topics: CSS, microformats and web accessibility.

The book may not be too technical or throw around much speaking lingo, but what it does do is even better.
BOOK REVIEW: Designing With Web Standards, 3rd Ed.
Zeldman's writing is sharp and clear as always, and the third edition is an essential read for those new to web design or web standards.
BOOK REVIEW: Photography Unplugged
The photography is candid and beautiful, showing a refined taste and judgment on the part of the photographer.
BOOK REVIEW: Complete Web Monitoring
Alistair Croll and Sean Power have written an interesting book that I think speaks more to marketing directors and businesspeople than to web designers and developers.
BOOK REVIEW: Papervision3D Essentials
Paul Tondeur and Jeff Winder's Papervision3D Essentials is a solid book with clear writing, a very hands-on approach to learning Papervision 3D.
BOOK REVIEW: High Performance Web Sites
I don't give out perfect ratings very often, but I did for Even Faster Web Sites and I will do the same for High Performance Web Sites.

A well-researched book about Research In Motion (RIM) and the little product that keeps millions of people connected.

The Autodesk Maya Entertainment Creation Suite, which bundles Autodesk Maya 2010 with Autodesk Mudbox 2010 and Autodesk MotionBuilder 2010 software, is a beautiful product combination from Autodesk—and one of its first.

The author's pedigree and the subject matter excited me about this book, but I was disappointed by the writing.
