col·o·phon: An inscription placed usually at the end of a book, giving facts about its publication, typography, and design.
You are reading D:3.0, version 3.0 of Designorati since its launch in September 2005.
All graphics were created entirely in Adobe Illustrator CS3. The original layout sketches and comps were also created in Illustrator CS3 (beta and final release), then sliced and exported. All XHTML, PHP, and CSS was handcoded from scratch using TopStyle Pro and Macromedia HomeSite. (Pariah’s been handcoding so long he just can’t get himself into the swing of psuedo-WYSIWYG HTML editors like Dreamweaver.)
Designorati.com–graphics, code, and CSS–was designed and built by Pariah S. Burke.
Neo Tech Alt by Sebastian Lester is Designorati‘s signature typeface, appearing in the logo, section headers, story headlines, and elsewhwere throughout the entire site. In the logo is Neo Tech Alt Medium, and the Bold variation is used in the navigation buttons at right and story and page headlines–the latter via dynamically generated Flash using sIFR. Other graphics and textual elements use Neo Tech Alt Regular, Medium, and Bold.
Body copy is Helvetica/Arial except in FireFox on the Macintosh, which, because of its numerous text rendering bugs and deficiencies, is forced to display body copy in Verdana. Subheads, bylines, and other elements use Georgia, which degrades to Times New Roman.
Designorati.com‘s content management system (“CMS”) is a highly modified version of WordPress. All modifications and custom programming were performed by Pariah S. Burke.
Designorati.com is valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional (although a few pages contain not quite valid code necessary code to overcome CSS rendering bugs in various browsers).
