Samuel John Klein (call him “Sam”) has had a lifelong interest in maps that eventually translated, amongst other influences, into graphic design. Along with interests and passions in design, layout, typography, and illustration (both physical media and computer), he has a lifeling passion with maps and the process of making them.
He believes that design colors everyone’s life whether they know it or not, and one thing any designer must be aware of is the influence thier work has on people who see it–or at least be knowing of it. Designers have a responsiblity to be careful and thoughtful stewards of not just their designs, but also their discipline.
He is a voracious reader, avid map collector, and inveterate sketcher. He holds an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Graphic Design from Portland Community College, Portland, OR, USA.
The chance to explore cartography and typography through the vehicle of Designorati is the sudden and happy culmination of a lifelong dream.
