Cartography Blogs Worth A Look

By Samuel John Klein On 4th November 2005 @ 08:35 In Cartography, News | No Comments

A few worthwhile blogs on this most unlikely of subjects

For further exploration into the cartography community at large on the web, here are a couple of cartography-themed sites I’ve found:

[1] The Map Room. This blog does some of the work I’d be doing if I could spend all the time I want to writing about maps. Very fine coverage. Bookmark worthy.

[2] A weblog simply titled “Cartography” is the home of the ‘blog of the Canadian Cartographic Association. They also do a great deal of insightful work and are also bookmark worthy.

[3] The WWW Virtual Library has been going at it for the past eight years and is a rich and varied resource. Follow the “Discussion Lists” link to a page that will point you to subscribing to MapHist, an essential mailing list if you care about maps and map news. It has about 700 subscribers. We subscribe to MapHist, and we think you should, too.
