Today Apple introduced the iPod Flea, the world’s smallest MP3 player. The Flea plays one song over and over, and is actually smaller than a single earbud.

Layers Magazine has the first look at the new iPod Flea and it’s upcoming commercial in streaming video.

(Just in case you’re suffering from Monday Mania, the iPod Flea is a joke, and we know it’s a joke.)

  1. The online comic “Sluggy Freelance” did a riff (no pun intended) on this a little while back, where one of the main characters got an iPod flea, and his buddy accidentally ingested it.

    It stayed stuck in his throat for a while, and whenever he opened his mouth to say something, a random song played, sometimes appropriate to the situation, sometimes hilariously not.

    They even took it to the t-shirt level, with graphics that copied the look and feel of the iPod ads, but the silhoutte had a lead that clearly went into the mouth and gullet of the silhouette, with the caption “iPod flea” and the tagline “Swallow that funky music, nerd boy”.
