Are you a new designer with a hot new thing – or something you’re sure will be a hot new thing, if only you could get it publicized? Getting a visible platform is something that, as many soon find out, is easier said than done. When it comes to self-promotion, we need all the help we can get. You can set up your own website and try to get people to come – but it shouldn’t stop there. But what next?

That’s where Gunnar Schmidt and Markus Gogolin come in. They want to help you, and the tool they’ve provided is a website they call DesignSpotter (http://www.designspotter.com/)
. It’s all about giving you a chance to show your design off – and the price is right: free.

Cutting Edge Interest

A look at the site gives several impressions straight off the bat. Effective design; the content is front, center and interesting, and the surrounding site design is pleasant but doesn’t dominate. This is important because here, the content is King, Queen, and court.

And what content it is. Design of all kinds, for living spaces, furniture, fashion and accessories, accoutréments of all sorts: chairs, lounges, architecture, jewelry, to name just a few. The standard seems high overall, with a high level of professional polish and sophistication all around, making it not just a good place to showcase one’s work but a place to get a glimpse of what new and passionate talent are doing.

There may be sites that showcase the “new”, but none that does it quite the commendable way DesignSpotter.com does it leap to mind. And did we mention that it’s free to submit?
