New forum and communication site for designers worldwide promotes community

One of the facets of the creative life is a place to get together, chat, compare notes, trade tips, and get critiques. Many good resources on the ‘net exist today, and on 31 Dec 2005, another debuted: the Australia-based Designwire
.
Its tagline, as is ist aproach, is simple: “A design community”. Right now the main feature of Designwire is a set of fora, but they are very well chosen, complete with individual discussion groups for inspiration, resources, designer-to-designer help, and the enticing “Photoshop Tennis”, amongst others. A pleasing, minimalist design ties the whole site together. A newswire window and a “shoutbox” completes the interactive tableau.
Designwire requires registration, but it’s free, and any chance to rub elbows with fellow designers is worth the checking out.
