An essential reference for the new and the continuing learner revamps

New Look Rookie Designer
The new look for the [1] Rookie Designer podcast site

Back in December I reported on [2] Rookie Designer, a podcasting site produced by Adam Hay, that endeavors to provide the new designer with survival tips and tricks and encouragment. In following the history of this worthy site we are pleased to have found that it has undergone extensive redesign, with a new logo.

Its redesign empasizes clean access to content. All the essentials are up front and don’t get lost in competition with the graphic design. Adam Hay “gets it”, and wants to help you “get it”, too.

If you’re a new designer and you haven’t been follwing RD, here’s some of what you missed:

  • Podcasting 101
  • How to work with printers and make them your friend
  • Tips on the creative process in general
  • Critiquing: giving (and recieving) constructive criticism
  • How to price your work

I recommended RD back in December; that recommendation still stands. It is the sort of continuing education that the new designer needs. Have you bookmarked it yet?
