I haven’t seen any comments yet on whether Adobe is going to offer a reasonable upgrade path from CS2 to CS3. Am I spending $1200 for full CS2 only to have to spend another large chunk (anything over about $300) to get the upgrade? Has anyone heard anything?
I have a student license since I’m in school right now, but am going to purchase full CS2 for the new Mac I’m getting so there will be no question of using a student license and doing commercial work.

For those of you who are downloading the CS3 beta, remember to use your CS2 serial number to obtain a CS3 serial number here, then use that when opening and licensing the CS3 beta. Simply entering your CS2 number for the CS3 beta doesn't work. Looks like CS3 has adopted a new look for its icons, based on the periodic table of elements. Imagine a blue box with "Ps" inside it. I'm not sure I like itâ€”the feather icon was more creative, I think, and I liked it.

The download for the Photoshop CS3 Beta is available here. Note that, as of 7:42AM CST, this isn't on the Adobe Labs home page. Also, check out this good article by Scott Kelby on CS3's new features. At a glance, Photoshop CS3 is going to have some awesome new features!
