The Live Tournament is Now Accepting Entries for its 11-City World Tour; Deadline 17 July
PRESS RELEASE:
New York, NY – dmdnewyork.com – (June 4, 2007) – Earn your design cred by competing in the Cut&Paste Digital Design Tournament 2007, pitting top, emerging digital artists against one another in a live, onstage battle sponsored by Adobe®.
Cities hosting the 2007 series include: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Portland, San Francisco, Berlin, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. Over the course of several fast-paced, single-elimination rounds, eight designers
will be whittled down to one. Each contestant will come to battle with a tech-heavy arsenal including an Apple® MacPro Workstation, Adobe® Creative Suite 3, and a Wacom® Cintiq® interactive pen display. In each round, a designated
theme will guide competitors to create a digital design that meets three criteria: Originality, Technique, and “Overall Dopeness.” The contestants’ work will be projected on screens in real-time to a substantial live audience. An all-star
judging panel will decide the Jury Prize, while a global webcast will allow onsite and offsite viewers to vote for an Audience Prize online or by SMS.
So, what’s in it for you? The Cut&Paste Tournament is a chance to showcase your design skills and the creative process in front of fans, recruiters, and industry leaders, not to mention earning you bragging rights, some incredible prizes and potential professional opportunities.
“Cut&Paste not only worked as a portal to meet other talented people who share my passion for design and visual communication, it was the ultimate showcase,” notes Julian Gonzales, a past Cut&Paste contestant. “Just one week after the
event, I was approached by two different design firms expressing interest in working with me.”
Don’t sleep on the chance to compete! Visit www.cutandpaste.com for entry and contest details. Entries will be accepted until July 17.
