Training for both designers and printers will be available at the Ipex exibition
The release of QuarkXPress 7 is near—at the Ipex Exhibition in Birmingham, UK, Quark will demonstrate their latest and yet-to-release version of their layout program, and will offer training for both designers and printers. The exhibition is one week long from April 4th to April 11th, in the National Exhibition Centre.
Training sessions are free and will be 45 minutes long. You can see the full schedule of QuarkXpress’ training seminars [1] here.
Quark seems to target printers especially, probably because, as they stated in other occasions, they are concentrating on their existing customer base. Maybe even Quark isn’t that sure they will get new users, or will get the old ones back. By keeping priners on their side, they might want to force designers to use QuarkXPress. Too bad for them that the PDF format exists.
Aside from that, QuarkXPress 7 is the first version with transparency features, and Quark might feel the need to help printers know how to handle those features, as InDesign has been notorious for creating problems because of transparency. On the other side, Adobe got smart and created a [2] free and downloadable guide to solve these problems.
