Digital Canvas Award Winners Announced

NAPP’s contest boasted a trip for two to Paris, France as the grand prize. Who won? Check it out!

The Digital Canvas Award winners were announced yesterday, February 2, 2006. Click here to see the complete list of winners.

This was a major contest with lots of great prizes; the Grand Prize was a trip for two to Paris, France! The Best of Show winner is required to create a cover on-site for Photoshop User magazine, but I don’t think that would be a deal-breaker for anyone. The other winners received a great package of prizes, including:

• Wacom Intuos Tablet
• Educational book bundle from Peachpit Press
• Spyder Screen Calibrator
• Adobe Photoshop CS2 software
• Two three-day Photoshop World Conference passes

The categories were almost identical to the categories in the Guru Awards, also run by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. (BTW, I just saw the deadline for Guru Award entries was extended to Friday, February 17).

The Digital Canvas Awards’ winning entries are really worth checking out. I took a look at them last night and they are really something else. It seems a lot of contests end up with winning entries you take a look at and wonder, “Why in the heck did they pick this one?” But I’d be hard-pressed to say that about any of these.
