MorgueFile.com is one of the best places for free and royalty free photos. The term “Morgue File” comes from the newspaper business—it’s a repository for past issues of a newspaper—but this morgue file is a repository for an astounding number of high resolution photos perfect for use by graphic designers.

This site provides high quality free image reference material for use in all creative outlets, whether it be commercial, non-profit, or personal use. The photos and artwork are licensed under the morguefile license. Basically you can not sell the photos standalone or include them in a collection of photos you are selling, and works they are used in cannot be considered offensive, indecent, or obkectionable. Nor can they be used to defame, libel, or discriminate. If there are any requirements from the photographer, such as dropping them a note telling how you used the image, it is listed with the photo.
