The word from Adobe is now yes, there will be a Mac version of Photoshop Elements 4, its popular entry-level photo-editing software.

In a post on Photoshop Elements User forums, the word from Adobe is that yes, there will be a Mac version of Elements. There was no annoucement of when, leading to speculation that Adobe may be waiting to release the Mac version to be compatible with the new Intel chip as well as the current Unix-based Macs now on the market.

On John Nack on Adobe, Nack, Photoshop Project Manager, had this to say:

So, what about the Mac version? In short, we’ve said that it’s in development (e.g. see the last line in the first paragraph here). We haven’t been any more specific than that, largely because as a public company Adobe has to be very careful about forward-looking statements.

He then added:

And so, fellow Mac users, please don’t jump to any conclusions. We don’t have a new Mac version to announce, nor can we provide details on when we might have one or what it would contain.

Now we wait and see.
