Photoshop Jargon: TWAIN

“TWAIN” stands for “Technology Without An Interesting Name” and is a standard method for acquiring images from scanners, digital cameras and other imaging devices. TWAIN is a Windows-only command; the Macintosh uses “TWAIN Acquire”.
