Photoshop CS2 includes a couple new Web Photo Gallery styles with Flash power!
If you haven’t noticed yet, Photoshop CS2 has some new styles in its Web Photo Gallery options, and the exciting part is that two of them are Flash-based! If you’ve always hated showing off your pictures online with plain transitions or no transitions at all, give one of these Flash styles a try. You don’t need to know a single thing about the Flash application because Photoshop CS2 takes care of all the hard work for you. Select your style, point the application to your source images and destination folder, and it will generate all the files.
Above is a screenshot of a Web Photo Gallery I quickly set up. My one complaint (and it’s a big one) is that there’s only two styles and they are both bare-bones and pretty much identical to one another. The only difference is that one is vertical and one is horizontal. But the transitions are smooth Flash-based fade-ins and fade-outs, and there’s some new icons at the lower left for navigation. Flash can make just about anything slick and cool, and these galleries are no exception.

I completely agree Jeremy. This is a very useful resource that CS2 contains, but my question is…how do you edit those galleries in Dreamweaver(the html editor i am using) to add navigations and other eliments in my templates.
I keep getting the “you must enable Javascript to view this content” and nothing else shows up.
I tried looking all over the net and no luck. I’m not very savy w/ website building (still very green) so any advice would be appreciated.
What i tried doing is opening up the index.htm file that PS CS2 web photo gallery generates and that notification i mentioned comes on.
Hi, My question is, How i can add description text for each projects in the flash Web photo gallery.
Thanks
Mart
I too agree that these automated flash galleries are great. I do have one question though. I’m trying to change the background image of the flash galleries and am not having much luck. Is this something that has to be created in the flash source file or can this be edited in the xml file that accompanies the flash gallery? I’m green as this page when it comes to flash and any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Manuel
I was experimenting with the various web galleries from the selection in PhotoShop CS2 and an error message popped up:
“There is an error disabling controls for missing tokens. Some file or folder for selected style might be missing.”
I checked in the program folders for Adobe and all the CS2 Web Photo Galleries appear in the presets but when I open CS2 with my selected images and click Automate - Web Photo Gallery, the same error message pops up again.
I have used the web generator option several times in the past and it worked just fine. I must have recently deleted some vital component(s) but I have no idea what.
I have been adding a number of plugins in other areas (ie actions). Every thing else is working fine except for the automate web generator.
Any suggestions what files/components to look for to resolve this problem, other than completely reinstalling the entire program.
Thanks,
Wendy

How do you take the flash 1/2/3 gallery and upload those onto your website. As I can’t get it to play.
how do you edit those galleries in Dreamweaver(the html editor i am using) to add navigations and other elements in my templates.
I keep getting the “you must enable Javascript to view this content†and nothing else shows up.
I tried looking all over the net and no luck. I’ve downloaded the Java program from Sun, the settings seems to be ok at the Internet options but i still get this message? what can it be? thanks
For anyone with the missing tokens error, there is information on fixing this at http://www.bergetti....d/support/other.html
I am so cunfused. I created a web gallery using my cs2, but absolutely can not add it to my website. How can I do that?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Shannon
Shannon, it’s hard to describe what to do in your situation site we don’t know the details of your website, but if you have the gallery files ready to go what you need to do is get access to your web server (via FTP most likely), upload the files, then find out what web address goes to the gallery page and link to it.
FYI, Photoshop Lightroom has web gallery features as well and also sports an integrated FTP upload function. In your case, imagine clicking a button that uploads the gallery onto your web server without you having to do anything other than specify the FTP information.
I am publishing my Lightroom review now (4 stars out of five!) and will also publish a tutorial about the FTP features.

Hello,
Sinilar to shannon, I am also having trouble publishing the flash web gallery that i creatd on CS3 extended. My host is googlepages, I have uploaded all of the files contained in the “destination” folder. I thnink that my proble may be the arrangement of myt html, Could anyone refer me to a tutorial that may be of assistance ?
thank you !
JennaMarie
JennaMarie,
As with Shannon earlier, it’s hard to judge what might be the cause. Here’s some things to check for:
(1) Were the files left in the same place they were when Photoshop generated them? If some were placed in a folder and not others, for instance, then some HTML files may be looking for assets in the wrong places.
(2) Are you sure you have the right URL that points to your HTML file?

Hi Jeremy, can you please give us some light on the dw message: “you must enable Javascript to view this contentâ€
If we can’t see the the content in dw, this gallery generator is useless.
Thanks,
Oliver
What you’re seeing in DW is only a part of the page’s code—try previewing the page in a web browser.
