An interesting contest for Photoshop users is going to be deadlining in a few days. If you have this weekend free and feel like doing some cookin’, go for it!

The contest in question is O’Reilly’s 2006 Photoshop Cook-Off; I just learned about it at last night’s InDesign User Group meeting in Des Moines. I am away this weekend and won’t have time to make an entry, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t.
Basically the contest is open to Americans (don’t ask me why it’s not international) who can cook up an image using a recipe from one of O’Reilly’s five Photoshop cookbooks:
There’s big bundles of prizes for the winners from sponsors like Adobe, Epson, Pantone and others; you can see the full prize list here. And the judges list has some big names like Bert Monroy, Deke McClelland, Katrin Eismann and Vincent Versace so this is a major-league contest.
