FontLab updates to new version offering new features for Windows, Mac version in devolopment

FontLab has recently updated its high end professional tool FontLab to FontLab Studio 5. This new release boasts many new features, amongst them:

  • Unicode 4.1 support
  • Improved OpenType support
  • Opening of Mac fonts on the Windows platform
  • Redesigned preference support with custom UIs
  • Improved metrics and kerning, with multiline preview

FontLab Studio 5 is available at present only for Windows users but a Mac version is in the pipeline. The price of the software package is $649. For more information, visit FontLab’s Studio 5 home page here.
