FontHaus and MyType get in the Halloween Spririt

In thier periodic mailing to customers, online fontmonger FontHaus “gets creepy”:

Vistors to FontHaus’s online presence (www.fonthaus.com) who seek type in the “Category” pulldown will find a new category, “creepy”, in the listing. Listing that category will display a list of tasty seasonal looks, complete with appropriate names such as “chaotic” Bludgeon, “cold” Chiller, “drippy” Creepy, “bizarre” Hollyweird, a very victorian CarpeDiem Initials, Schmutz Clogged, and the well-known ITC Blackadder, heavy with Goreyesque connotations. Priced from $21, you too can get creepy without necessarily breaking the bank.

Other notable FontHauseries new this month include, new from digital type godmother Zuzana Licko, Puzzler 268 Pattern Elements. This font, which is a collection of adventurous patterns based on abstract shapes and halftone dots, looks fun, insipirational and, in some cases, positively hypnotic. It comes in Floral, Geometric, Halftone Coarse and Halftone Fine varieties, and is priced at $98 for the collection. Also of note is FontHaus’s Process Font sale: on offer for 50% off faces Bryant, Fig, Kettler, Locator, and Locator Display

Halloween Party is on at MyFonts

Meanwhile, over at the Victorian expanse that is the MyFonts manse, a selection of killer fonts such as Ravenwood, Stiltskin, and the lovely Gothic-y Basquinade. Topping it off are Halloween symbol fonts, the announcment of a new Live Test Drive interface that gives live previews, and, as always this month’s “Rising Stars.”

MyFonts’ Rising Stars is a free monthly e-mailing; you can go directly to this month’s edition by clicking here.
