In this edition there’s a bit of new font activity out there, as typefounders vye for your hard-earned (and budgeted) font dollar. T.26 brings us some nifty sans-serif and display and and a townful of human-silhoutte glyphs, Linotype graces us with handwriting grace and Sci-Fi goodness, and MyFonts has scripts that announce that they are indeed ready for thier close-up.

T.26 leads off this time with fonts from thier November Font Showcase. Featured are five fonts: Cheek – in four weights, Roman and Oblique – for $59, Sav – a display font – for $29, and Satellite (in three weights) for $39, all by Chris Risdon; Antititled Basic by Fulvio Bisca – a sans serif in four weights and Roman/Italic styles – for $109; and Eastend, a font made up of human silhouettes in various activites, by Kaptiza, for $39. Also featured are a connection to Linotype’s Cyrillic range; an article on type systems, and a link to charts of Linotype’s best-loved fonts.

MyFonts this month is all about the decorative, the lush, and the script. From the refined Royal Script (pictured) to Sloop, Sterling Script, and fashionable attitudes such as Fashyon and Mecheria, there’s enough swashes for a thousand buckles.
Frankly, these fonts are adventurous and intriguing – they ought to be seen to be believed. And, just in time for holiday designing – it just isn’t the holidays with script fonts livening up the place somewhere.
